Obv: AV KAI MAP AVPHΛΙΟC ANTΩNƐINOC.
Laureate and draped beardless young bust of Caracalla, right; cmk.: male head (young Caracalla?), right.
Rev: ƐΠI [CTΡ] AYΡ BACCOY ΠIONƐITΩN.
Apollo standing right, with legs crossed and hand over hip, resting left arm set upon pillar to right; quiver on his houlder; bow? in left hand; serpent-entwined tree to left.
The name of the magistrate is known from the Julia Domna coins. However, iconography of Apollo and the serpent-entwined tree, which may be related to a local cult or mythology, does not appear on Pionian coins. This is the first known specimen.
