Rev. AMENANOΣ, head of the river-god Amenanos facing left, wearing a tainia and with a tiny horn above his forehead, two fish swim either side and crayfish swims below chin, signature EYAI below (Rizzo, pl. XIV, 7 (these dies); Kraay-Hirmer, pl. 13, 38 (this reverse die); SNG Lloyd 907 (these dies); SNG ANS 1263).Of beautiful elegant style, well-centred, attractive dark old cabinet tone, very fine.Very rare.
