RUSSIAN MEDALS. BADGES. Very Important personal Group of Russian Decorations and Medals to Boris Vsevolodovich Soloviev commander of the 'Nerpa', the first Russian submarine involved in war maneuvers.
131 The group consists of:
• Officers' Class Submarine Badge. Silver. No hallmark or maker's mark. PB 1.1.64. Anchor cable encircling an anchor, on which is superimposed a submarine. Screwback with fully intact hand-beaten plate. An excellent example of this Very Rare badge.
• Jubilee Badge in Honor of the Bicentennial of the Naval Corps, 1901. Issued to Staff members and Cadets of the Three Highest Companies. Silver. Multienamel. By Eduard. marked on the screwplate. PB 1.8.4. Light blue-enamelled ribbon frames a double-headed eagle, crossed anchors behind it, with a light blue and red enamelled shield with the Naval Corps Arms on its breast. Screw-back. Trivial enamel fading at bottom. Superior.
• Graduate of the Naval Corps in St. Petersburg Badge. Gilt Bronze and enamel. PB 1.8.5. Gilt wreath of laurel and oak branches beneath an Imperial crown. Gray anchors are crossed over the center. Superimposed is the red-enamelled Arms of the Naval Corps. Above is a double-headed eagle holding four white enamel maps in its beaks and talons, a red enamelled shield with the Moscow Arms is on its breast. Screwback. A very large badge of superb quality.
• Campaign Medal for the Russo-Japanese War. 1904-1905. Bronze.
• Award Medal Commemorating the Centenial of the Napoleonic War. 1912. Bronze.
• Award Medal Commemorating the Tercentennial of the Romanov Dynasty. 1913. Bronze.
• Award Medal for the Bicentennial of the Battle of Gangut. 1914.
• Small Imperial Russian Yacht Club Badge. Pinback missing.
• Order of St. Nicholas, the Miracle Worker. (Instituted 1929). Cross. With swords.
35 mm. Gilt and White enamel. Gilt saint on white enamel center. On ribbon.
• Large Emigré cockade with enamelled Officer's Badge of the Imperial Army & Navy Corps at the center.
• Small Emigré Patriotic double-headed eagle pinback.
• French Legion de Honneur. Breast Badge of Chevalier 1870 type. Some enamel loss. On ribbo n.
• French World War I Victory Medal. On ribbon.
• Ribbon bar.
• Comes with laser copies of a photo of Boris Soloviev and of the submarine 'Nepra'.
