PTOLEMAIC KINGS of EGYPT. Ptolemy I Soter. 305/4-282 BC. AR Tetradrachm (26.5mm, 14.08 g, 12h). Contemporary imitation of Alexandreia mint issue. Diademed head right, wearing aegis around neck, small Δ behind ear / Eagle standing left on thunderbolt; to left, Ω above monogram. CPE p. 454, 142A. For prototype: cf. CPE 142a; cf. Svoronos 265; cf. SNG Copenhagen 73. Toned, minor doubling and light roughness on reverse. VF.

This issue appears to be stylistically linked to a series of imitative issues of Ptolemy II recently studied by C. Lorber. Specifically, the obverse of this coin is very similar in style to Lorber, Mint, emission 1 tetradrachms (= CPE Ptolemy II mint 23).
