Amlwch, Parys Mines Co., uniface trial of the unfinished pattern halfpenny obverse die [1788?],
cowled druid's head left - no oaken wreath, rev, blank, edge PAYABLE IN ANGLESEY LONDON OR
LIVERPOOL, large flan ‑ 32.5mm/14.26gm., (DH 272 Bis), good Extremely Fine, handsomely toned with
proof-like qualities, very likely one of two known – the other being the DH plate coin.

Ex. Lincoln No I Col. 4 May.1934; Ex. F S Cokayne Col. acquired Baldwin c.1946, his ticket, purchased 50/-; Ex. Spink 192, 24 Jan 2008, lot 215. On close inspection with the DH plate illustration this does appear to be from the same die – just on a larger flan. The druid's head is the same portrait used on the currency issues DH 357-261, issued in 1789.
