Ayr, William Fullarton, Trial for a Shilling [1798], from dies by J. Milton, bust of William Wallace right
(probably not Adam Smith as per DH), rev. female (Scotia?) seated in mourning with shields behind,
struck in collar, edge plain, 26mm/7.83gm. (DH 7). Usual die flaw on reverse, but very faint (so early strike),
otherwise good Extremely Fine, considerable amounts of lustre with iridescent patination, superb and rare.
Ex. 'an old Surrey Col.' via Mark Rasmussen Sep. 2016.
