Cronebane, Associated Irish Mine Co. uniface artist's trial Halfpenny in gilt (1789), bishop's head right with crozier, rev. blank, edge plain, 30.5mm/7.79gm. (DH 4 bis), about Extremely Fine, gilding very slightly
worn on salient areas. Unique.
Ex. Lincoln No 1 Col. sold via Glendinings 12th. Feb. 1936; Ex. F S Cokayne Col. (acquired Baldwin c.1946), his ticket – bought
privately from Lincoln on 4 May. 1934 for 50/-.
Despite lower weight the blank side has not been smoothed down ‑ as it is slightly 'rumpled' and ghosting a
silhouette of the bishop slightly incusely.
