Obverse, letters in Pahlavi "Sh(a)MS" for shams (in arabic meaning sun) in front of face, reverse, fire altar with attendants and 6 iris flowers around the fire altar. "Yazdgird had close relationship with the Arab tribes bordering his empire in the southwest. He sent his son Bahram V to one of the Arab Chieftains loyal to the Sasanian court". Well struck on a nice broad medallic flan. Choice VF / EF. Nice original find patina.
