The first of a very exciting and unusual offering of uncut pairs of specimens from the first two series issued by the Bank Melli Iran, which were printed by the American Banknote Company at at time when US-Iranian relations were much better than they are today. Very seldom offered as uncut pairs, and an important opportunity for the specialist. This strongly embossed piece has a single fold and some handling that accounts for the grade, but the eye-appeal is excellent. We only found a single auction result of an uncut pair of this denomination in recent years.
