Straits Settlements 1.1.1931 P-18a PMG Very Fine 30 10 Dollars
A wonderful, problem-free example of the challenging first date of this iconic design with the portrait of King George V at right. This type has become very challenging in problem-free condition in recent years, most seen are later dates, and examples with the first date (as seen here) are few and far between. Important opportunity for the Straits Settlements specialist attempting to collect all the different dates. We sold the 1932, 1934 and 1935 dates previously, but this is the first time we have been able to offer the elusive 1931 $10.
