Ukraine Set of 8 Stamps "100 Years. Second Winter Hike" 2021 Uncut Sheet
The Second Winter Hike (November Raid) was a military operation of the UPR Army in October-November 1921. The goal was to raise an all-Ukrainian anti-Bolshevik uprising and restore Ukrainian statehood. Three insurgent groups took part in the hike: Podil (commander - M. Paliy-Sydoryansky), Volyn (commander - Yu. Tyutyunnyk), Bessarabia (commander - A. Guly-Gulenko) and V. Nelhovsky's division. Ukrainian troops managed to defeat a number of Bolshevik units, liberate part of Ukraine, and win military trophies. However, the rebels were defeated by overwhelming enemy forces. 360 captured Ukrainian soldiers were shot near the village of Bazar in the Zhytomyr region. The Second Winter Hike was the final page of the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917–1921.; UNC
