The drapery is inspired by the royal mantle, or robe, worn by Her Majesty at her coronation in 1953. Royal Order of the Garter, inscribed with the royal motto "HONI · SOIT · QUI · MAL · Y · PENSE · ". JB right. Both designs by John Bergdahl. Edge inscribed with Queen's pledge from her 1952 Christmas message: "SERVE YOU ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE"
