SYRIA, Cyrrhestica. Hierapolis. Caracalla. AD 198-217. AR Tetradrachm (28mm, 12.81 g, 12h). Struck AD 215-217. Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust, with body facing and head left / Eagle standing left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; between legs, lion standing left. Prieur 940 (same dies as illustration). In NGC encapsulation graded AU, Strike 4/5, Surface 4/5. Rare and interesting bust type. Four known to Prieur at the time of publication.
