CHINA. Gold 1000 Yuan (12 Ounce), 1984. Panda Series. PROOF.
Fr-B2; KM-92; PAN-18A. Mintage: 250. Representing the first year of the 12 ounce gold Panda issues, this coin is a RARITY in many respects. This example, like most, displays numerous hairlines in the fields despite remaining sealed inside a plastic sleeve. A few copper spots are also noted, with "0004" appearing stamped in the edge. Sold with a --presumably original-- box, however the COA number does not match the coin. The first example of this type we've offered in five years, it's sure to excite the collector seeking the distinguished accomplishment of acquiring all the over-sized gold issues from the Panda series.
