(t) CHINA. Zhou Dynasty. Warring States Period. State of Liang. Arched Foot Spade Money, ND (ca. 400-300 B.C.). Graded 80 by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
Hartill-3.46; DCD-216. Weight: 11.3 gms. Obverse: "Liang Chong Jin Jin Dan Lie"; Reverse: Blank. This decently preserved example exhibits rich mottled green and brown patina with minor earthen deposits amongst the devices. The characters are well-formed, though slightly obscured by the patination adding to its originality. Close inspection of the lower right foot reveals a tasteful and somewhat convincing repair where the corner had been reattached and is mentioned for the sake of accuracy. Despite its shortcomings a handsome example of the type that is sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.

Estimate: $700 - $1000
