(t) CHINA. Qing Dynasty. 50 Cash, ND (ca. June 1853-February 1854). Board of Revenue Mint, Eastern branch. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). Graded 85 by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
Hartill-22.702; FD-2427. Weight: 61.1 gms. Variety with Er Bao and six stroke Bei. Obverse: "Xian Feng Zhong Bao"; Reverse: "Dang Wu Shi". This nicely preserved large format cast issue boasts well-formed characters with attractive rich brassy patina. Much of the naturally rough surface texture in the fields are still intact with plenty of evidence of the finishing process appearing on the high points and the rim. Pleasing to the eye, this hefty Cash issue is sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
