(t) CHINA. Qing Dynasty. 50 Cash, ND (ca. June 1853-February 1854). Board of Revenue Mint, Eastern branch. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). Graded 82 by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
Hartill-22.702; FD-2427. Weight: 60.2 gms. Variety with Er Bao and six stroke Bei. Obverse: "Xian Feng Zhong Bao"; Reverse: "Dang Wu Shi". This nicely preserved example displays attractive deep brassy patina with areas of richer coloration amongst the devices. The characters are well-formed with much or the naturally rough surface texture in the fields intact. The high points are relatively smooth with only minor evidence of the finishing process. This handsome survivor is pleasing to the eye offering much originality and is sure to catch the attention of collectors.
