(t) CHINA. Qing Dynasty. 50 Cash, ND (ca. June 1853-February 1854). Board of Revenue Mint, Northern branch. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). Graded 82 by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
Hartill-22.704. Weight: 60.7 gms. Variety with Er Bao and protruding head on Boo. Obverse: "Xian Feng Zhong Bao"; Reverse: "Dang Wu Shi". This attractive and wholly original looking large format issue boasts bold well-formed characters. The naturally rough surface texture is mostly intact, but does show signs of handling in the exposed areas. The lovely rich brassy patina combined with minor earthen deposits amongst the devices adds to its pleasing appearance and is sure to catch the attention of collectors.
