CHINA. Qing Dynasty. 1000 Cash, ND (ca. March-August 1854). Board of Revenue Mint, western branch. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). VERY FINE.
Hartill-22.715; FD-2435. Weight: 86.15 gms. Variety with Fou Bao and seven stroke Bei. Obverse: "Xian Feng Yuan Bao"; Reverse: "Dang Qian". This decently preserved example exhibits bold well-formed characters with much of the naturally rough surface texture, though the high points and exposed areas do show moderate signs of handling. A pleasing mottled brown patina coupled with minor earthen deposits amongst the devices offers much originality to this large-size issue.
Estimate: $1500 - $2500
