(t) CHINA. Qing Dynasty. Fujian. 50 Cash, ND (ca. 1853-55). Fuzhou Mint. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). Graded 82 by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
Hartill-22.799; FD-2523. Weight: 101.6 gms. Obverse: "Xian Feng Tong Bao"; Reverse: "Wu Shi". This richly toned survivor exhibits bold characters with most of the naturally rough surface texture still intact, though the exposed areas do show signs of handling. The high points display much evidence of the finishing process on both sides with minor earthen deposits amongst the devices adding to its pleasing appearance and originality. This attractive large format issue is sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
