CHINA. Qing Dynasty. Fujian. 100 Cash, ND (ca. 1853-55). Fuzhou Mint. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). VERY FINE Details.
Hartill-22.800; FD-2528. Weight: 171.00 gms. Obverse: "Xian Feng Tong Bao"; Reverse: "Yi Bai". This decently preserved example exhibits rich brown patina with well-formed characters. Much of the naturally rough surface texture is intact, though the exposed areas do show signs of handling. Close inspection reveals many flat hit marks on the raised devices mentioned for accuracy. Despite its shortcomings a presentable example of this large-format issue that is sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
