(t) CHINA. Qing Dynasty. Hubei. 100 Cash, ND (ca. 1854-56). Wuchang Mint. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). Graded 78 by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
Hartill-22.868. Weight: 41.1 gms. Obverse: "Xian Feng Yuan Bao"; Reverse: "Dang Bai". This somewhat crudely made survivor displays rich two-tone brassy patina with minor earthen deposits amongst the devices adding a bit of contrast. The naturally rough surface texture in the fields has remained intact, though signs of handling are evident in the exposed areas. Though a bit crude, this charming example is pleasing to the eye and offers much originality.
