(t) CHINA. Qing Dynasty. Jiangsu. 100 Cash, ND (ca. 1854-55). Suzhou or other local Mints. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). Graded 85 by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
Hartill-22.913. Weight: 58.4 gms. Variety with small Bao. Obverse: "Xian Feng Zhong Bao"; Reverse: "Dang Bai". This wholly original looking large format issue boasts crisp well-formed characters. The surfaces exhibit a nearly complete naturally rough surface texture with much evidence of the finishing process on the high points. Lovely rich mottled brassy patina coupled with a few areas of verdigris on the reverse adds to its pleasing appearance for this type. Nicely preserved, these multiple denomination issues are quite tough to locate in this high state of preservation and should be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.

Estimate: $1000 - $1500
