(t) CHINA. Qing Dynasty. Jiangsu. 100 Cash, ND (ca. 1854-55). Suzhou or other local Mints. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). Graded 82 by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
Hartill-22.913. Weight: 55.0 gms. Variety with small Bao. Obverse: "Xian Feng Yuan Bao"; Reverse: "Dang Bai". This nicely preserved large format issue exhibits well-formed characters with nearly complete naturally rough surface texture in the open fields. The high points are an attractive brassy patina while the open fields and crevasses are a richer coloration. Close inspection reveals several thin shallow scratches, as normally encountered in this series, from long ago, now toned over matching the rest of the coin. This handsome survivor is pleasing to the eye offering much originality and is sure to see spirited bidding.

Estimate: $900 - $1200
