CHINA. Qing Dynasty. Shaanxi. 500 Cash, ND (ca. 1854). Xi'an Mint. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). EXTREMELY FINE.
Hartill-22.952; FD-2501. Weight: 133.46 gms. Local pattern. Variety with six stroke Bei. Obverse: "Xian Feng Yuan Bao"; Reverse: "Dang Wu Bai"; Reverse Rim: "Guan". This wholly original looking survivor exhibits bold well-formed characters displaying rich brown coloration on the high points. The naturally rough surface texture is present, but mostly obscured by thick encrustation offering a pleasing appearance. Close inspection of the exposed areas under high magnification it becomes apparent that the metal has crystalized lending to the originality and authenticity of this seldom encountered large-size issue. This handsome survivor is wholly original and quite desirable and is sure to catch the attention of many advanced collectors actively seeking tough to locate issues.
