An embroidered Breast Star of the Order, 97 mm, the rays made of Silver thread with tiny loops to af x the star to the habit, round centre depicting a crowned rampant lion rising from waves, within the outer circlet bearing the motto "DOE WEL EN ZIE NIET OM", the reverse, with remains of the original, protective, green morocco leather backing.
A most rare breast star of the type entirey embroidered, thus being one of the earliest of such stars, dating back to the year of institution, 1806, a worn piece, making it even more attractive, besides its patina, for being from the property of an outstanding personality of the Napoleonic years, extremely ne condition.
