Sash Badge 103x77 mm., gilt Silver, as a five-armed, white enameled cross with ball finials, flanked by green enameled olive and laurel branches, obverse centre medallion with the allegoric bust of the "Republic", within blue enameled outer circlet, bearing the inscription "Republica dos Estados unidos do Brasil", sky-blue enameled, reverse centre medallion, with stylized constellation of the Southern Cross, blue enamelded outer circlet, bearing the inscription "Benemerentium Praemium", gilt silver reverse, upper loop with green enameled laurel and olive wreath and vertical, ribbon ring with a pattern of stylized laurel leaves, suspended to the original, full-length sash ribbon for an Asian recipient. Breast Star, 75 mm., gilt silver, made as a white enameled, five-armed cross with ball finials, flanked by grooved, polished rays, sky-blue enameled centre medallion with a group of tiny, silver five-pointed stars, representing the constellation of the Southern Cross, blue enameled outer circlet, with the inscription"Benemerentium Praemium", the reverse, fitted with vertical pin, the counter-medallion bearing the maker`s mark of "H. Stern, in the original green case of issue, the lid with embossed, Brazil`s coat-of-arms by"Stern", fitted inner compartment an appropriate lapel rosette. A superb set, in mint condition! I
