The 4000 Reis featuring the young bust of Pedro II is a classic rarity of the Brazilian independent collection. With Pedro I leaving Brazil to regain the throne in Portugal, young Pedro was elevated to Emperor of Brazil at the age of 7. His father selected three people to be guardians of the Emperor until 1841 when he was acclaimed and crowned.
