Republic gold 10000 Reis 1892, KM496, Russo-689, MS62 NGC. A classic key date in both the 10,000 and 20,000 Reis series with mintages suggestive of higher survival rates, but circumstances that obviously led to few survivors. The present specimen, a lovely Mint State coin, is highlighted by pinpoint central detail and shimmering luster in the fields. Light hairlines in the obverse fields and an incomplete strike near the dentils explains the grade. An important coin in the RLM Collection and sure to attract significant attention from rarity lovers.
