Republic gold 10000 Reis 1899, KM496, Russo-695, MS63 NGC. Mintage: 238. An important date in the 10000 Reis series with a tiny mintage, and an even tinier survival rate, that almost always leaves the specialist with a hole in their collection. Adding to the appeal, the present example is also wonderfully preserved, and the finest of three in the NGC census, with an intricately detailed design on both the obverse and reverse and semi-reflective obverse fields as a result of die polish lines (as made). A great opportunity presents itself in this date that appears to have alluded public appearance since the April 2005 offering of the Eliasberg specimen.
