Provisional Republic copper Pattern 20 Centavos 1870, KMPn3a. Proof 64 Red and Brown. Choice Proof and close to the Gem category. Flashy bright red color on the reverse, the obverse being more toned, and beautifully so. Long thought to have been struck in New York, numismatists now tend to agree that these were instead struck at the Bolivian Potosi mint (hence the "P" letter on the date side) by engraver Clemente Torreti (his initials being the "C. T." letters).
Estimate: 2000-2500 USD
