Republic gold Proof 1916 5 Pesos, KM19, Fr-4, PR64 Cameo NGC. Choice Proof, with a contact mark to the left of the bust keeping it from the Gem category, while the reverse is pristine. Reported mintage of 10 pieces. Rarer than the 1915 date, and among the finest known. Note that although the slab mentions an ex-Norweb pedigree, the auction of that famous collection did not have this specimen which was acquired from descendants of the Norweb family.
