Louis XII (1498-1514) gold Écu d'or au porc-épics ND, Bayonne mint, from 19 November 1507, Fr-325, Dup-655, AU55 NGC. + LVdOVICVS : dEI : GRACIA : FRANCORV : REX (anchor mm), crowned arms of France flanked by two porcupines / + XPS : VINCIT : XPS : REGNAT : XPS : IMPERAT (anchor mm), cross patonce with L's and porcupines in alternating quarters. Slightly double-struck with some weakness in the devices and portions of the legend off-flan, the surfaces are quite nice. There is substantial remaining luster and the flan, while smallish, does not appear to have been clipped.
