Hamburg. Free City gold 1/4 Portugalöser (2 1/2 Ducats) ND (1553-1673), Fr-1093, AU53 PCGS. An impressive large gold type, and rather well struck overall despite some natural flan waviness, with the gates of the city on the obverse, surrounded by inner and outer legends, and a Portuguese cross in the central reverse. Wonderfully colored and listed only as "Rare" in the Friedberg book. A magnificent opportunity for the world gold specialist.
