Saxony. August Taler 1564-HB, KM-Unlisted, Dav-9795, MS63 NGC. A phenomenal example of this issue, easily among the finest of this somewhat common type. These are rarely found better than VF/XF and are often weakly struck. This piece is sharply struck, although slightly doubled in spots, and exhibits no real circulation wear. The devices are accentuated by a warm coppery tone.
