PHRYGIA. Cibyra. Ca. 166-84 BC. AR cistophoric tetradrachm (30mm, 11.98 gm, 1h). Helmeted and draped bust of Ares right within dotted border / Cavalryman on horseback galloping right, holding couched lance and shield, A and lion to left, TPO MO ΔΑ above ΚΙΒΥΡΑΤΩΝ below. Cf. BMC Phrygia 1-5 (similar types, different controls and magistrates). Extremely rare! A small section of the edge broken and repaired from 2-3:00 reverse, otherwise well centered on a round, medallic flan and Good Extremely Fine. With NGC photo certificate noting repair and grading it XF 5/5 - 1/5.
