Claudius I (AD 41-54). Orichalcum sestertius (37mm, 30.70 gm, 6h). Rome, AD 41. TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG P M TR P IMP, laureate head of Claudius right / SPES AVGVSTA, Spes walking left, holding flower in right hand and lifting hem of stola with left, S C in exergue. RIC 99. BMCRE 124-8. Lovely natural dark green patina with absolutely no tooling or smoothing. A bit of striking flatness at high points, otherwise Nearly Extremely Fine.
