Great Britain
Edward III (1327-77) gold Noble ND, S-1490, North-1179, 4th Coinage, Pre-Treaty Period of 1351-61, French title alone, Series G (struck 1356-61), Cross 3 Pattee, UNC Details "Removed From Jewelry" NGC, tooled in the field above the king's head near the rim and on the opposing rim with edge smoothing and a cud-like repair at 11 o'clock obverse, otherwise lustrous and boldly detailed on a broad flan, sharp tiny king's face and center of reverse, all legends unusually sharp, and the surfaces choice aside from the tooled area. Not perfect but this coin retains lots of eye-appeal and many details for study. (Mis-attributed on the NGC grading insert as S-1516, which would be Post Treaty, with both French and Aquitaine titles; wrong dates and type.)

Estimate: 3000-4000 USD
