Edward the Confessor (1042-66) Penny ND, S-1179, North-825, Pointed Helmet type, moneyer Beorn of York, AU58 NGC, a thoroughly delightful penny, of sound metal on a nearly perfect flan, every element struck up sharply, the color an excellent medieval gray with iridescent hues. This design type was minted from 1053-56. York Mint issues frequently display a large annulet within the reverse field, as seen on this example.
