Commonwealth gold Unite 1651, S-3208, North-2715, Sun mm, AU55 NGC, lustrous with choice surfaces, an unusually sharply struck coin, evenly bold, the flan somewhat wavy but broad, all of the beaded rim present on each side, and blessed with beautiful reddish sun-gold toning. An outstanding example of the largest gold coin issued by the Commonwealth, without portrait but showing (on obverse) the shield of Saint George within a palm-and-laurel wreath and (on reverse) the conjoined shields of St George and Ireland, with the value of 20 Shillings expressed as "XX" just below the date.From the collection of Donald E.
