Great Britain
Charles II silver pattern Farthing 1665, Peck-407 (very scarce), Reeded ("straight grained") Edge, Short Hair type, PR64 NGC, a truly beautiful example with delightful surfaces, a super strike, and lovely light golden silvery gray iridescent toning. This type is common in VF grade (most proofs made as samples went into commercial circulation) but it becomes elusive in a splendid state such as seen here. Dated 1665 in bold numerals, it is the predecessor to the standard copper issue which began in 1672.
