Great Britain
George III Halfpenny 1772, S-3774, 1st London Issue, struck at the Tower Mint, MS65 RD NGC, a truly gorgeous copper glowing with orange-red mint luster, crisply struck (must have been made from new dies), including an unbelievably bold date. The tiniest of abrasions. Light die-clashing at the rear of the king's head and through US in his name, and looping upward from his mouth to III; another from the N to Britannia's nose. Possibly the best of this type seen by the cataloguer in nearly 40 years of handing the finest in British coins. Nothing less than fabulous!
