William IV gold Proof £2 1831, S-3828, KM718, plain edge, 1-year type, struck for inclusion in the Coronation Proof Sets of this year, uncertified, Brilliant Proof, distinct cameo contrast of the motifs against the glittering, deeply mirrored fields, the king's portrait and shield both pretty much unmarked, scuffs and hairlines all over the obverse field but these are fairly unobtrusive and the naked eye can still enjoy this coin nearly as much as a high-grade one. Gold color is a delightful yellow. Plain edge may possibly have been smoothed. Very rare and desirable none the less.
