Ferdinand VI Pillar 8 Reales 1758 G-J, KM18, Cal-79. XF45 NGC. 214,634 pieces minted. A flan flaw at 11 o'clock on the reverse, but a decent strike on a nice broad and round flan. This is the commonest date of the type, thus this specimen represents an affordable type coin. From 1758 onwards, "UTRAQUE" was spelled as two words with noticeable space between them. The Patterson collection included the very rare variety with "UTRAQUE" as a single word, albeit a low grade plugged example (Bonhams 7/1996, lot 317). Ex. Ponterio & Wyatt (10/1981, lot 281 for $1,100).From The Isaac Rudman Collection of Guatemala Coins Krause catalog price(s) for this item: $750 in VF, $1000 in EF.
Estimate: 600-900 USD
