Guatemala
Ferdinand VI Pillar 8 Reales 1759 G-P,  KM18, Cal-79, XF40 NGC. 171,471 pieces minted. Another pleasant example, struck on a broad and round flan, with minor unobtrusive adjustment marks across the left globe on the reverse. The only assayer for this scarcer year, since no coins dated 1759 exist with the "J" initial: Pedro Sanchez de Guzman took office on February 6 of that year, and the first coins struck in 1759 were issued on March 12 and carried his initial "P".  Superior to both the Amat and Patterson pieces, and equivalent to the nice Haberthuer specimen (SBC 1/1996, lot 2523). Ex. Freeman Craig (5/1983, lot 139 for $1,260).From The Isaac Rudman Collection of Guatemala Coins Krause catalog price(s) for this item: $500 in VF, $700 in EF.

Estimate: 800-1000 USD
