Central American Republic gold 1/2 Escudo 1825 NG-M, KM5, Fr-30, MS64 NGC. Other than a small planchet flaw to the left of the sunface and minor adjustment marks visible under the numeral of the denomination, this is a very eye-appealing specimen. Note that although almost never catalogued as such, most of the known specimens of this date (including the present one) are overdates 1825/4. This is by far the most available date for this series, making it the only readily obtainable coin in the entire NG Central American Federation series. Nevertheless, high grade specimens such as this one are rare, and this small jewel should bring spirited bidding. Ex.
