Guatemala
Republic gold Pattern 5 Pesos 1894,  Paris mint, KM-Pn23, Fr-47 (small head). PR62 NGC. Only 10 pieces minted. Obverse: Laureate Liberty Head facing left, surrounded by REPUBLICA DE GUATEMALA, CINCO PESOS. Reverse: Guatemala coat of Arms with Quetzal bird atop a scroll, over crossed arms with wreath around, 0,900 ESSAI 1994 below. Engraved by Jean Lagrange, Chief engraver of the Paris Mint at the time. The tiny mintage figure is verifiable as the 1895 report by the Director of the Paris Mint accounts for it (and another ten pieces of the related 10 Pesos pattern, for a grand total of 750 Francs). Some handling marks, especially on the obverse, but very attractive overall. Extremely rare with 3 or 4 specimens confirmed. Ex. Norweb (Christie's Dallas 11/1985, lot 885 for $7,500).From The Isaac Rudman Collection of Guatemala Coins

Estimate: 5000-7000 USD
