Guatemala
Republic gold Medal for the Central American Union Pact 1890, Prober-350. Uncirculated. 33.13gm/37mm. An impressive large piece struck in Guatemala in 1890 in commemoration of the Central American October 15, 1889 Union Pact. Very rare in gold, and surprisingly free from the usual rim nicks seen on the very few specimens examined. Prober mentions the sale of the Virgil Brand specimen (Glendining 3/1936, lot 225) as reference. Ex. Steve Ivy (8/1980, for $750).From The Isaac Rudman Collection of Guatemala Coins
