British India. William IV gold Proof Restike 2 Mohur 1835-(C), Calcutta mint, KM452.1, Prid-3, W&S-1.4, PR58 NGC. Reeded edge. A rare early restrike in desirable proof condition with uniformly brilliant surfaces that display blended orange-gold color around the design and fields that retain glimmering reflectivity. As the grade suggests, this piece was lightly handled in the past, but in doing so, only small scattered ticks and light hairlines were added to the surfaces. Still, a visually commanding piece and an especially desirable type in the current market.
