Felipe V gold Cob 8 Escudos 1714 Mo-J, KM57.2, Calico-107, UNC Details (Salt Water Damage) PCGS. Struck on a broad flan with incredibly bold details. This is the rare variety with GRAT in place of the date at 10 o'clock on the obverse, and with the full four digit date added to the reverse legend. A remarkable example from the 1715 Fleet treasure with the original tags from Cobb Coin Company (item 37737). The damage noted by PCGS refers to some dulling of the original luster but is otherwise a non-issue in our opinion. Krause catalog price(s) for this item: $7500 in VF, $9000 in EF.
